EnviroPAST 2019 – Day 2

Reflection by MC (Tim Jones – The Grow Good Guy)

It’s a wrap 🎥!

Enviro-PAST 2019 is complete and what a complete 2 days it was.

I’ve been around a few conferences and events in my time and this one was one of the best ever.

2 days of focused attention on the challenges that we all face at so many levels from our almost complete reliance on plastics.

Thanks to:

Samantha Jory-Smart for her art as poetry.
Monique Kelly from Revology.
Anthea Madill from Remix Plastic for more beeswax wrap
Megan Blakie for her workshop.
Raquelle de Vine from Algalita Marine Research and Education for the toolbox tips
and Helena Ruffell from University of Canterbury for your inspiring actions!

But beyond just education, there were genuine, real-world examples of people actually taking a stand and doing something about this challenge and plenty of tools and ideas for attendees to take with them to implement.

What’s the most impressive thing is that this whole event was put together by such a young group of amazing humans. I need some parenting tips from those that have raised this group!

Can’t wait to see this event come back next year and then go national – cos it needs to!

Massive churs to:

Wright Family Foundation as the Gold Sponsor

Environment Canterbury, Christchurch Art Gallery Te Puna o Waiwhetū, Strawberry Sound Canterbury (Nick you are a bloody legend) and Scion Research as Silver Sponsors

Trees For Canterbury, Trade Aid New Zealand, Kiwibank, Can Do Canterbury, Christchurch City Council, Fair + Square Soapery, Christchurch Airport and Raglan Coconut Yoghurt for your support

Particularly looking forward to making use of the soap and yoghurt I got in my MC’s pack!
