Singapore is leading the charge on all things environmental, aiming to eventually become a completely zero waste nation. However, according to academic Sonny Ben Rosenthal, “There is no rubbish piling up on the streets, so Singaporeans don’t perceive a waste problem or feel personally responsible to reduce waste.”
Although 60% of all plastic which makes its way into our oceans comes from just six countries in Asia, plastic pollution is a global problem. That’s why Sweden and UN Environment have teamed up to support a $6 million project to beat plastic pollution in Southeast Asia. Yes! Yes! Yes!
