Diamond Harbour

Diamond Harbour, named by Mark Stoddart who bought 500 acres (200 ha) of land in the area in 1856, is home to a sheltered deep water beach with safe swimming. The stone-filled area can be accessed from the Diamond Harbour village centre or from getting a ferry across from Lyttleton. Nearby, Purau and Chateris Bay are other popular beach destinations.

There is also a plethora of walking tracks available, to accompany the stunning views.
